Solidez aparte de estas dos formidables piezas de su catálogo ("Concierto Elegíaco" y "Concierto de Toronto" para guitarra y orquesta) estas grabaciones en vivo constituyen el testimonio de incalculable valor de los estrenos en Cuba de estas obras con el guitarrista cubano Rey Guerra y el maestro Brouwer al frente de la O.S.N. de Cuba (en el caso del "Concierto de Toronto") y el mismo guitarrista y el maestro Guido López-Gavilán al frente de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Matanzas. Ambos estrenos tuvieron lugar en las Galas de la Clausura de los Festivales Internacionales de Guitarra de la Habana en sus ediciones de 1990 y 1998 respectivamente.
